The Starship II campaign, which builds upon this campaign's OpenLOCK tiles has had a very successful month-long run, which is ending tomorrow at 17:00 CET (+2 GMT).

Final Hours have begun!
Final Hours have begun!

Many of you have already pledge for a second time, and I want to thank you personally for making this Kickstarter possible. For those of you who have missed it, I want to offer you one last look and chance to get in before the campaign ends tomorrow.

There are a variety of pledges geared towards new and returning backers, but the primary pledge includes the following:

And of course, we have entered stretch goals mania. The following have been released:

Along with...

We just added the final add-on, a complete, modular interior shuttle/dropship.

And we have had a few other great packs that some of you asked for last campaign:

Kickstarter II Preview
about 6 years ago – Mon, Apr 09, 2018 at 06:45:54 AM

Although a little delayed, I am pleased to announce that our next Kickstarter will go live on Wednesday at 17:00 (+1GMT)!

I am very excited to see how it will be received, as it should hopefully be in evidence that I have put a lot more work and detail into these tiles compared to the first campaign!

Here is the campaign preview (click through to visit Kickstarter):

The link should divert you to the campaign if you view it after the campaign goes live.

Until then, let me know if you guys are missing anything, have any questions, etc. Photos will be joining the renders as the campaign progresses, and I have yet to add in the Stretch Goals, but you know the drill!

If nothing else, check it out because it shows the entire amazing collection from Starship I. I can't believe there was over 150 models by the end! It seems insane now. The new KS is already 75 pieces together.

There are limited spots for early bird backers to get in at a slightly better pledge level than the rest, so keep an eye out.

Visual Previews
about 6 years ago – Sat, Mar 17, 2018 at 12:33:21 AM

I am going to mostly let these images speak for themselves. I am aiming for the end of the month release.

This is the engineering bulkheads set. There is a lot of detail, but it translates very well even at 100 microns. I prefer the half-wall setup, but full walls are included.

This shows how you can combine the new bulkheads with the KSI engineering and machinery tiles.

The size limit of images on KS does not do these justice.

 Have a great weekend!

Well, it's been a while, but mostly because I have been busy working on a new campaign that I hope to have out by the end of the month!

The focus of this campaign is going to be on bulkheads. What is a bulkhead? Well, a bulkhead what I call a special kind of S-Wall, which, instead of forming an upside down T with a wall in the middle of a tile, it is sort of L-shaped, with the wall offset. This allows for the sharp slopes you see in the designs of many popular sci-fi franchises.

Still confused? Best I show you!

Bulkheads are single-sided, but the rear, rather than being flat, shows the support structure on the outside.

Yes. They take up a lot more plastic and print times, but the compromise is the inclusion of half-walls in all sets! The reason for this is not only to save on plastic - but because practically, let's be honest, it is a lot easier to see with miniatures without full walls. Both options will now be available.

You can see I have been busy...

These models are to a higher standard of detail, so that people who like to use high detail prints can get maximum enjoyment out of the tiles, and we have found that they print just fine between 100-200 microns.

But Ben, I hear you say, isn't this just a bulkheads rehash of the last campaign? Most certainly not!

We have new corridors and crawlspaces!

You can see above that a combination of half walls and full walls can be effective!

We are going to have sets focusing on the following:

  • Bulkheads
  • Corridors
  • Crawlspaces
  • Hangar
  • Security
  • Medical lab

Plus of course, the bounty that stretch goals are going to give us!

I hope to see some old handles join me on my second Kickstarter journey!

More updates to come in the coming weeks!
