And now accessibility to the next Stretch Goal is assured!

What mystery has befallen the crew of the Opus Rapiunt? Yes! I named the ship, she is called the Opus Rapiunt, and she is a privateer. She's a six-hundred toner, and features in my regular pseudo-traveller campaign (with a smidgen of Bubblegum Crisis and Macross thrown in). Anyway, names aside, congratulations! You are all a step closer to finding out!

I can hardly believe it, but we've made it to the 40,000 SEK mark! And you know what that means?! Yes, you asked for them - ramps! I've already prototyped the 2x2 ramp, which will scale up to the next level in quarters.

I've also modelled out wedges to help support the ramps. In the final release, there will be 1x2 ramps in steps of halves and quarters, and perhaps a few variant tiles to suit the part of the ship.

What's Next?

So, next up is the big 50K! To be honest, I wasn't sure people would even be interested to get this high, but that doesn't mean I am not prepared! Another large project involving many pieces, we will be looking at stairwells! A questionable space choice aboard starships, it would hardly be sci-fi without some impractical ways to ascend levels in an artificial gravity environment!

Thanks so much again you guys for being so awesome! Now, head down!

Campaign Highlight!

So, it's also time to speak up about another great OpenLOCK campaign running now. Check it out if you haven't, because Hayland Terrain has got some great sci-fi synergy with my sets, such a cargo to fill your holds with! Check it out!

Once again we ascend to a new level!

Wow! The slow Sunday turned into an incredible advance! I thought I would have more time to work on the stairs and other things now on Monday, and thought I had at least the whole day ahead of me! Boy was I wrong!

Congratulations everybody! Everyone of the Master Chief tier and above will be getting stairs added to their pledge. Not only the stairs shown here, but also 3x3 tile stairwells. This will include also the addition of placement blocks - sort of jigsaws you can print in clear plastic to place under minis on the stairs.

Now the stretch goal map is getting huge!

What's Next?

So, I am excited to announce the next two Stretch Goals! They are biggies! The first is angled walls, and the second is curved walls! That's right, that will mean a fair bit of work, and tricksy modelling, but I am up to the challenge!

Kickstarters We Love!

As usual, I'd like to take the end of the update to highlight a few fellow Kickstarters that are going at the moment.

First up is a Kickstarter I got excited about when I first saw it! Viral Outbreak by Not-So-Bored Games was designed for use with boardgames like Pandemic, but in all honesty, it's got great minis that I will be using in my Traveller campaign, lots of scientists for NPCs, cool hazmat suits and styles that would fit into Sci-Fi and Cyberpunk settings! Check them out!

Also, Hayland Terrain's campaign is entering its final day. It is worth the click through to look at the awesome Sci-Fi terrain that will mix very well with my own set.

OMG! Thank you so much! We have funded in 51 minutes!

I had no idea what the response might be with this campaign, but the answer it seems is - incredible! Thank you all so very much!

But I know most of you know how this works, and that our funding goal is just the beginning! So you'll be wanting to know about the Stretch Goals! The first stretch goal is at 10,000 SEK, and is...

Control Panels I

Didn't you think it weird we had nothing in the way of control systems for our ship? Well, not to worry, we have these and more in the works!

We Have Been Uplifted Again! Stretch Goal IV Down!
over 6 years ago – Fri, Sep 08, 2017 at 09:36:18 AM

Honestly guys, you are going through the stretch goals faster than I can keep up! lol. But stress is a good thing - at least this kind of stress!

So what does this mean? Well, you guys have earned some free lifts! Yep, that's right, each backer of the Master Chief level or above will be getting a 2x2 and a 3x3 lift. What you see here is just a prototype, my idea is to create lift shafts with removable lifts, so you can have both. You can hopefully see the idea below:

What's next?

Our next goal is 30,000 SEK!

So what will the 30,000 SEK Stretch Goal be? Well, the first results back favour Teleporters and Ramps, so the next two stretch goals will be just that! So first the teleporter pads, then the goal after is the ramps (which will involve more modelling).

We're over the wall! Another Stretch Goal Down!
over 6 years ago – Fri, Sep 08, 2017 at 09:35:26 AM

Wow! Yet another goal down, this time low walls! Every backer of the Master Chief rank and above will receive six new half sized walls to their pledge, including two variants each of the base, corridor and engineering walls.

Now players and game masters alike will be able to see the miniatures more easily on the table!

So, next up we have the 25,000 SEK goal, and what will it be? Well, we will eventually need a lift up to the next deck right? So the next thing will be lifts, a.k.a. elevators!

Campaign Highlights

Kickstarter is better for everyone in our community when we help each other spread the word! So every few updates or so, I will be highlighting other live OpenLOCK projects, based on how much time they have left.

Looking for something cool to place on the table when your ship visits alien worlds? Check out Worlds Overrun, which has just over a day left on the campaign for some pretty out of this world scenery that is also OpenLOCK compatible.
